Interview med bulgarske bikini atlet Siliana Gaspard. Siliana bor I USA med sin mand Shad (wrestler), hvor hendes familie også bor. Der er efterhånden en del der har ladet sig inspirere af Siliana, idet hun gik fra overvægtig, genstridig graviditetsvægt, til bikini atlet – nu med flere titler under sig. Find ud af, hvordan Siliana har fået sine abs, “hemmeligheden” til at holde dem, hendes favoritøvelser for glutes (bagdel), og hvad man IKKE skal gøre, hvis man møder hende til træning. Are you pregnant in the first picture?
Yes, I believe I was about 6 months pregnant in this photo.
The picture w/before and after, whats the time frame between those?
About 15-16 months. My son was 13 months old when I did my first show.
How did you get your skin tight on your abs? Alot of
people ask as they want to lose weight and tone up but are afraid of
It is not difficult if you do it properly. I drank a lot of water while I was pregnant to keep my skin well hydrated, as well as using lotions to help prevent stretch marks. I also used different oils to ensure that my skin stayed in the best condition possible. As long as you lose the weight within a healthy time frame, do exercises for your abdomen that tightens the skin, and hydrate yourself, saggy skin shouldn’t be an issue.

How many calories did you take in a day the last month of competition?
There is never a set amount. I eat whenever I am hungry. So, if that means I eat 3,000 or 2,000 calories, it doesn’t matter to me. I listen to what my body tells me because, at the end of the day, my body knows better than anything or anyone else. I just make sure to eat clean and healthy to avoid fat gain.
What foods do you avoid to keep good abs?
Alcohol is very harsh on your abs- things like beer destroy your abs. Also, carbohydrates in moderation. Pasta, bread etc. will instantly soften that area of your body.
Whats your secret to good abs? Work out tips and diet?
I have no secret. I am sure genetics help as well. I eat well and exercise. I do sometimes wear what is called a “squeem” to help keep them tight. I finish my work outs with cardio and abs; I believe this helps harden them faster.
Your secret weapon to a good glutes workout?
Deep squats. I did a test for a month a few months ago where I did deep squats almost every single day, and by the end of a month, my friends and even strangers were asking me if my butt was fake!
How is your familiy dealing with your transaction?
They are happy that I have made a career choice and am doing well in it. They do not worry about me because I am able to control myself. Like I said, I will not starve myself, I will not do cardio for 2 hours a day every day. I still live my life and realize that I need balance. I have a 3 year old son who comes first before any of this. I made a healthy transition, I feel, into a better life for myself and my son.
What made you make this decision to get into shape and compete?
I started working with a personal trainer after the birth of my son, and his wife was a professional body builder. So, he made me lift weights, and I really liked the way my body started to look with weight training. I had always modeled, and decided that I wanted to get into fitness modeling. I decided to compete in order to break into the industry.
Anybody who knows me knows that I love French fries.
I love squats and dead lifts. Literally my favorite thing to do, I would do them every time I go to the gym if I could.
How tall are you?
I am 5’5’’
How often do you work out and do you do split programs?
I work out about 5-6 times a week. I never know what I am going to do in the gym. Again, I just listen to my body. If my body tells me my legs are too tired, then I will focus on my arms, back, abs etc., in order to let them rest. If I feel like working on something that “isn’t in my program,” I do it anyway, because at the end of the day, if I can’t even enjoy what I am doing, why do it?
Do you do cardio in the same traningpas as weightlifting?
I will usually do cardio at the end of my weight training session.
Whats an absolute work out no no in your world?
Don’t talk to me while my headphones are on and I am in the middle of my work out!!
Do you feel more feminine now or less?
I feel the MOST confident, SEXIEST, MOST secure, MOST powerful, STRONGEST that I have ever felt in my life. Some people say that it is “ugly” or I look like a man, that I am steroids etc., but I don’t care. To me, there is no better, no sexier feeling than to be in the gym and lift heavier weights than the men who try to flirt with me! I think I look amazing in my clothes, I love my curves, and when my clothes come off..well, it gets even better! =)

What is your advise to females who have body image issues?
Stop trying to be like everyone else. Be yourself, accept yourself. Once I stopped wanting to look like this model or that model, and I started focusing on what I wanted to look like, my life changed. There is nothing anyone can say to me now that will ruin my confidence or make me feel ugly. Stop looking at the outside world, start focusing within yourself, and making yourself happy, only then will those issues go away.
How do you feel about all the scrutiny fitness models are adressed with?
Well, it is part of our sport and our lives. There are very mean comments that are said at times, but this is usually from unhappy people. I think most of us just do what we love to do, and try to avoid any negativity that is brought into our lives. No matter what you do in life, there will always be people who try to bring you down, as long as you are able to keep your head up and stay focused on what you are meant to do, then everything else will fall into place.
